Local Support
Either Mira ( 0033-698-459294 ) or Helen ( 0044-7816-546516 ) will be available should you experience any problems.
Mira is English and lives and works nearby. She speaks fluent French. She arranges for the apartment to be ready for incoming clients and for bed linen and towels to be changed on the middle Friday/Saturday of a two week stay.
We like to be well prepared for visitors who are arriving, Please keep to agreed departure times so the apartment can be cleaned in time. The bedroom off the entrance hall is prepared first so people can deposit bags there should they arrive before the apartment is ready.
Mira knows Nice well and is very friendly and happy to answer any questions you may have.
Helen frequently travels between the U.K. and Nice and you are more likely to meet her during the quieter periods as she is based in the U.K. during the summer months.
Apartment guidelines:
- House towels and bed linen are provided. Please bring your own beach towels. Please do not use extra towels and sheets from our laundry supply unless absolutely necessary. For those staying two weeks or longer our cleaner will come to provide fresh linen on a Saturday.
- When opening the shutters, use the outside catches to stop them banging in sudden winds.
- For the security of the apartment and your possessions, we strongly advise that you close the shutters when away from the property, even though we now have a safe for the use of guests.
- Our apartments are in apartment blocks and on the whole our neighbours are very friendly and tolerant of our guests coming and goings. It is usual to greet anyone you pass in the hallways with a Bonjour, or Bonsoir, madam/monsieur. Do not be offended if you are met with blank stares from some. Most of the French are very happy to speak with you if you make some attempt at their language.
- Even though there is a good supply of hot water we recognize that it is an extremely precious resource. So please enjoy it but do not waste it. If you notice any of the plants are needy please water them sparingly.
- Please note that it is crucial to keep the washing machines in perfect working order. (Please de-fluff dryer filter in rue Fodere after each use). If you have been on sandy beaches, would you please thoroughly shake out beach clothes and towels before washing.
- Keys to the apartments need to be carefully looked after. You will see that the front door to rue Fodere could rival that of a bank vault.. The previous owners of the apartment did not leave us the electronic card needed to cut new keys so please guard the ones we give you carefully.
- Rubbish is collected everyday ( early a.m.). It helps keep the apartment fresh and hygienic if you can get into the habit of taking rubbish and bottles down to the bins each time you leave the apartment.
rue Fodere: wheelie bins are to the left of the front door (not collected on Wednesdays) and there are bottle banks by the church across the road.
rue Arson: there is a corridor to the right of the lift on the ground floor that leads to a little room with wheelie bins.
The studio: rubbish bins outside emptied each day.
- Heating and airconditioning Rue Fodere: The reversible air conditioning will be set at approx 22 – 23 degrees. It is state of the art machinery and is geared to come on in each room whenever it detects movement. Each appliance has it’s own remote control. Please keep these in their ‘pockets’ and do not allow children to play with them. If you wish to change the settings please refer to control sheets in each room. It is possible to give a burst of heat or cool air when needed. We usually keep windows closed for optimum efficiency.
- When cleaning the ceramic hobs please do not use pot scrubs or scrapers. If it does need more than a wipe over with a soft cloth, you will find a tube of cleaner in the draw immediately beneath the hob and some rubber gloves to protect your hands.
- In all apartments for the security of youngsters please keep the windows closed when they are around and please supervise young children on the balcony and roof areas. Also please note that tiled floors can be slippery for little stocking feet.
rue Fodere: Clients have exclusive access to the roof space at the back of the apartment to hang their washing. Eventually we shall turn this space into a quiet space roof garden but until then we ask you not to spend time out there. You will see that the concrete surface slants and the corrugated roofing is not weight bearing.
rue Arson: please supervise children in the lift as the doors are heavy.
The Studio: tenants have access to a large roof terrace which is communal, but rarely used by others. However please keep this space as a quiet space so as not to disturb neighbours.
We've never had an accident and we hope to keep it that way.We are happy for you to make yourself at home during your stay and and would be delighted if you carry on the tradition set by our previous tenants of leaving our apartments loved and looked after.

Departure Times
We require you to vacate the apartments by 10.00 am on the day of departure so that we can have a free rein to clean and prepare the house for incoming clients. Whilst we appreciate that this may not be convenient for you it is non negotiable. New clients arriving have access to the house from 4pm on their day of arrival. Should you arrive before 4pm, we will usually find a place for you to leave your bags in one of the rooms that has been serviced.
